If you don't have a valid current year license from another sanctioned club(such as SCCA, NASA, IMG) you must select time trial school.

I will update you guys as soon as I have more new info also there is a FB group for the convention if you have any questions or issues please feel free to pm me FB message me (suraj chaitan) or if its urgent text me 917.378.7148 thank you all for your interest I look forward to seeing all of you there and it is my goal to make this an enjoyable and memorable convention again I thank you!

Good stuff!

However, according to the website it is a "EMRA RACE, OPEN WHEEL & TIME TRIAL EVENT @ NJMP's Lightning". I do not see anything about a HPDE/trackday/PDX/etc. From my little digging, this may actually be a legitimate trackday.

However, can you contact the correct individuals to clarify this?? I would hate for it to NOT be a track day and no one is allowed on track. Will there be instructors, etc??

Either way, I am driving up for this! Easy 2.5 hour drive and I will just stay at a hotel the night before!

This is a track day I go to this event every year there will be instructors this is an all day event where it's broke. Down into parts they send the beginners to class while other cars are on track for a few laps then they let the beginners out with instructors then back to class then back out again they don't let the beginners on the track with the pros unless the assigned instructor signs off on it if your instructor feels comfortable with you they will sign off and push you up to the next group and yes this happens on the same day

The link states this

"*A temporary weekend license may be purchased when a driver holds a competition license from recognized motorsports organization other than EMRA. Contact EMRA's Chief of Race Licensing if you are unsure about your status."

This would make it seem that since I do not hold any license from any "recognized motorsports organization" I am ineligible. I read your words and are presenting some observations, merely.

You have been at this event before and it is truly an arrive and drive ordeal and those who wish to participate are looking at $325 + $25 for the temporary license? (aka $350 for the track day experience)

I understand how you have laid it out in your replies, and I appreciate your/s efforts. I look forward to a reply that can help eliminate any possible confusion.

you can participate you just have to be at a beginner level and go to the school throughout the day and they will have an instructor in the car when you do go out on the track there is a fb group for this and a rep from emra is in there to answer any in depth questions that you may have that I may not be able to answer one of my friends that had never done this before went to this same event last year registered went to the safety class went on the track with his instructor with other beginners and got bumped up to a new group all in the same day it all depends on your ability and skill behind the wheel!!

Following up for full clarification, I want everyone (including me) to be on the same page as we prepare for this.

Most of us do not have a valid competition license, so we will all be in the beginner group with an instructor to start the day?

And then be moved to other groups after being signed off by their instructor?

Will there be enough instructors to accomplish this task?

Didn't see a schedule, how many sessions are planned for each run group?

Sorry for all the questions, but it's better to know ahead of time than to be surprised at the last minute. Especially if everyone has to go thru the vetting process.
