I'll join Ameen in representing the boosted Miata contingent this year.

I've been trying to get my mom to get a Juke. she thinks they are "cute" - she wants to get rid of her horrid '04 Pontiac Torrent SUV or whatever it is. I talked my sister into getting a Versa, (although I tried to get her to get a B15 but she wanted a "new" car) - so I am still working on mom for the Juke. not the Nismo version, of course, just the regular. I test drove the base model or one model up and loved it. not fast, just fun

P.S. can't believe SCCA banned the Juke from official competition. Nissan spent a lot of dough marketing the Nismo version. that's gotta have really pissed some people off and heads are rolling. now of course, I'd imagine the average individual who bought the Nismo Juke doesn't even know what the SCCA is, however someone f'ed up

I would love to take him out in either the clown shoe or the Mister Two for a couple sessions.

A lawyer and MR2 owner? Ask him if he's familiar with the lawyer from SC who built the first supercharged 2nd gen MR2 in the US. It's a white car. I do IT work for that lawyer. =P

Just asked and he doesn't know of the guy but he said that's awesome. I'm assuming he supercharged it b/c it was the NA model?

BTW also how fast you think you can get his red MR2 around Nelson? Putting down like 288whp, new coilovers, lots of suspension goodies

Can you guys show me where it states the Juke is banned in SCCA? I can't find anything factual based yet. Maybe I'm not looking in the right spots.

I have just passed on what I was told, that the vehicle is too high for the wheelbase

Well, I do plan install coilovers and lower it about 2.5" or so, and install 18x9.5 +38mm Wedssport SA-10R wheels on it. But those rules apply to autocrossing, so I should be good to go in HPDE events for now.

Correct.

There really is no telling. I wouldn't push another person's car past 8 or 9/10ths and instructing can be done without pushing limits. For your average RWD "tuner" car I like to aim for the Spec Miata times. If you can approach those I think you're doing really well. If you can manage that, maybe aim for the spec E36 guys next.
