I have the Goodridge SS's as well. I didn't notice much of a difference in pedal feel but def on stopping distance. They get the fluid to the calipers significantly faster.

Also, the best brake fluid I've found to be, especially considering the price, is just Nissan OEM "Heavy Duty" brake fluid. It comes in like 1/2 quart bottles for $8 or something at the dealer and they always have it in stock. IMO the stuff was better on the track than when I had expensive synthetic stuff. No idea why. And nothing else was changed on the brakes but the fluid, although you could argue I had air in the hoses from bleeding them in a rush etc.

Wow. I'm gone for a few days and come back to a wicked online discussion.
Hope there won't be any nonsense at this convention like there was last year.

Back on topic: I'm suspecting that we cannot have a child in the passenger seat...probably minimum age of 16 or 18?

If I had to guess, the passenger needs to be 18 (to legally sign the waiver) unless you are their legal guardian, which should allow you to sign for them at just about any age, provided they weigh enough and are tall enough to safely be protected by the seat belts and not be harmed by an air bag if active.

However, that's just a guess.

the problem is two fold. One they are much harder to modulate, so I don't think they're good for a novice. Two, they don't work when cold, so really not a good option for a street tired/driven car. Again, I've done it, and had one of the most "interesting" drives I've ever had!

That doesn't make any sense at all!

Must be over 18.

So whats the point of SS brake lines if they don't do anything over the stock ones? Or are you saying I am incorrect on lowering stopping distance, hell I have no idea, but it sure felt better on hot ass days.

Rubber OEM lines flex. SS braided lines do not.

No effect on stopping distances. They are only good for pedal feel and consistancy. What really didn't make sense is the "It made the fluid move faster" comment, since brake fluid doesn't travel. It functions on pressure which if the lines swell, the pressure drops.

You know what I meant.... the lines improve the effectiveness of the entire system and thats why I believe my stopping distance decreased which I felt/feel mostly on hotter days, maintains a higher pressure and thus the brake fluid within the lines is at a higher pressure available to the physical braking components. how that effects pedal feel I suppose it could be firmer, but its more about improving the efficiency, as I didn't feel much in the pedal. I didn't mean "travel" like coolant travels up the hose to the thermostat or whatever

exactly, and thus the pressure in the SS lines will be higher, and the reason they're not on all cars from the factory is because of $$ - I didn't mean that it moves as if the lines are empty and then you hit the brakes and the fluid goes to them, if that were the case we wouldn't need to bleed the lines, just drain the reservoir

.......

Can you elaborate on that?? Just curious as I never went last year but never heard of anything out of the ordinary.
