I remember when Joe and Jay came back I think my Dad and I were around and we saw the "Chesire Cat" look on both of your faces and then heard the backstory.

Awesome times.

I really want to go to the next convention.. But I want to bring Barney with me out there and drive him at the track... I still have time to figure out how that will happen..

Yes, if no one else does I'll give you a ride

Be sure to bring Bail money if you ride with Joe

Oh shit what did Uncle Joe do? He was a good boy over here on the west coast this past weekend. Then again it was @OptimumSE-R driving him around.

In Ohio 2012, @eggman rode back from the dragstrip to the hotel with me. As we approached the transition from one highway to another Jay stated "If this upcoming ramp is as long and smooth as it looks on GPS you should go for it!" It was and I did.

As we merged off the ramp and onto the highway I kept my foot in it and wound out both 3rd and 4th. Somewhere as we were passing 120 miles per, Jay started laughing out loud. He says "I am having a blast right now, and I don't want to kill your high, but do you really want to go to jail tonight?" We were both grinnin' like a pair of Cheshire Cats!!! I eased back down to a reasonable cruise and we are still laughing about it two years later.

As I recall, we caught up to @hammerin hank and he thought we might be a state patrol because of the weird lights (Morettes on the Panda) and our closing speed. We laughed and waved as we passed.
These are the special things that happen at conventions

Hahaha now it makes sense! We would be a terrible combo riding together because much like @eggman I will be peer pressuring like a mofo! So worth posting bail for.

I would love to do the same thing but I would have to take so much time and I dont think I would drive the car...would be trailered. :/

I fly in and bum rides like I am in high school again. Hah

Hopefully someone will let me try out one of their cars. Lol

I am working on making sure the hotel I use offers a shuttle service to and from the airport. As for a ride from place to place I am sure we can figure that out.

Rob,the shuttle was great last time in ohio....hotel..eh not so much, but I did really appreciate the shuttle service to the airport.
I hope to drive this year...still TBD .

It wasnt hard to find a ride to the tracks and restaurants and whatnot either.Actually gives you a chance to meet and get to know more people.

What about the hotel in 2012 wasn't to your liking? Or were you just referring to the hotel giving us a hard time about being loud and hangin out in the parking lot late?

Just to clear things up, we had spoken to hotel management prior to booking that hotel letting them aware of our convention and whats to be expected. We had no clue that they were going to be rude and lie to us about a bogus curfew ordinance which I later found out wasn't true by contacting the local pd.

For the price we paid, I believe we had a really nice hotel and location. Decent amount of parking, bar and lounge area inside the hotel, more then one elevator, easy access to and from the interstate, etc...

Going forward we will make sure the hotel we choose is accepting to our rowdiness. It just may or may not be in as an ideal location but affordability does play a major factor.

Parking is a major thing for me. The last two years has been ruff for parking. As more and more people come with trucks and trailers. The way to fix that is having a hotel with truck parking

Parking for me at the moment is the biggest task. I hope to have something solid very soon.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts ,too.
You guys did great,so dont get me wrong.I am not complaining at all,it was still a blast.
The hotel and location was nice, good breakfast, good shuttle to the airport, etc. No question, for the money,it was a great place.
My only issue was the stigma attached to us by the Hotel, and all the bogus rules, etc. They acted like we were gonna trash the place or something.
I/we try to be respectful of others at the hotel, but lets face it. We are gonna be loud and up late,so the Hotel needs to accept that ahead of time.

I agree, parking for more trucks and trailers would definately be a plus as others mentioned.
Its too bad we cant find a mom and pop or small hotel that we could book the whole place so no other guests are inconvenienced by us.

Yah, no issues with the previous Ohio hotel choice.
I only worry they had issues with us as was mentioned. I would love to go back if they wanted us back. Maybe now the dust has settled and they see how it all went down they might be okay with us again? Might be worth a shot anyway as long as the bridge wasn't torched from their end.
