I am in the same boat, minus the truck part. I hoping to get a dolly at least before conv, then I wont be so scared to pound on car, o yeah, slicks is a must too. Got a couple months, it can happen.

I gotta beat my own best, last set with my 92 se-r, maybe at the Conv.

Except the East Coast FWD class I guess. =D

Now I ask you what crack are you smoking?
Name me a style of drag racing where the shortest ET gives you the win every time. I'll even let you ignore red-lighting if you want.

Two cars line up. Staging lights are set. The tree starts to drop. Light goes green. Both cars take off. First car to hit the 1/4 mile beam wins. Lets say car "A" beat car "B" to the beam resulting in a lower ET then car "A" wins.

So stop beating around the bush explain to me how the car with the lower ET in drag racing does not win. Eliminate all other factors and that is the basics.

I happens so often, I'm surprised you're not familiar with it. Watching a typical top fuel final will result in 3-4 of these usually.

Here's how it happens.

Tree drops.

Car A leaves the line tripping his lane's timer at 6:00:01.00 PM
Car B leaves the line tripping his lane's timer at 6:00:01.50 PM

Car A crosses the finish line, tripping his timer at 6:00:11.00 PM for an ET of 10.00 seconds.
Car B crosses the finish line, tripping his timer at 6:00:11.25 PM for an ET of 9.75 seconds.

Car A wins the race, as usual, because he crossed the finish line first. He had a longer ET, but his reaction time made up for it. This happens all the time.
