The life of an average Nissan Sentra/200sx/G20 owner:
98% of the time is spent on the forum buying parts or talking about fixing their car
1.5% spent staring at the broken car
0.5% spent fixing the car.

That's why I left my car "stockish" and didn't get too crazy.

I'll have to disagree since I paid new car price for mine. You could get a V6 Probe GT or Mustang LX 5.0 for the same money in 93'. Uniqueness and the "do it all utility" were probably the biggest factors for me. No regrets though.

All the parts that take wear and tear and need to be replaced during the vehicles life are way more cheap on a Sentra than almost any car out there. Maybe the point is being missed, but they are some of the cheapest cars to maintain.

Just going to a G20, similar or EXACT parts are more money just because "Infiniti". I dislike that reality so much, but it is true.

@ post 266, 90's and Ford = no way, sir!

Hahaha! Point taken, but other than the no decent snow traction, the LX 5.0 could also be a do it all car, and like the Sentra, parts were cheap and readily available. DD, auto x, track day, and very easily a 12 sec. drag car. Somehow I guess I've been able to ride the fence all these years on the import vs domestic issue, and see the advantages of both.

Lol. I thought I was quickly becoming the villain. Seriously though, I agree with what you said. I lot of guys did get into these cars because the used entry price was inexpensive, and parts were cheap and plentiful. Funny thing is, now they are getting enough age on them that certain parts are getting harder and harder, if not impossible, to find. In 1993 though... I did consider it just an overpriced econo box blessed with an engine that absolutely wouldn't quit, an abundance of simplicity, and just enough go fast additions to make it interesting. 20 years later that's still what endears itself to me. Not the best at anything, but so damn good, at so many different things! B13 soapbox rant #113 completed. Back to the business at hand.
