Why, so you don't have to drive so far? I think you're missing the point in owning a car.

...and there was one in 2011 and it didn't go so well.

There was a convention in 2011 in NJ? Well that explains it, I was out of the game from 2005- December 2011 and I was unaware of it. How about one in PA?

Ok cool, you used a facepalm smiley. Why so sore? I think a meet in mid-central western PA would be good. Get the Midwest guys and the east coast guys. For people who live in New England, and there are A LOT of SR20 people in New England, Ohio is at the tipping point of going or not, I think.

I'll be at the Ohio one regardless in 2014 but it just seems odd to have 2/3 conventions in three years in the same location. Although the turnout out was great and everyone was nice, and the guys who put it on really did a great job. Hell, I spent $200 on groceries and fed lots of people.

One was planned for NJ... and it failed. Never happened.

Why are you questioning the decision to have it in OH? I think all it does is undermind what's already being decided. I can assure you the organizers of this have taking all of the factors for success into account while making their decision on a location.

The fact that things almost fell apart in 2011, you were MIA for years, and now you're in a Convention thread saying "I think we should do this and I think we should do that" seems audacious at best.

You're lucky I'm just giving you the facepalm, and not lambasting you sideways.

And for the record, most, if not all, of the greatest car events are held in the same place every year.

Oh ya, 2006 was in PA/Northern NJ...you know, the one you missed.

I'm sorry. "Lamblast me sideways" all you want. It's the internet. In 2006 I was in college and then graduate school. I had no time for playing with cars. I had a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder that's all. I was modding SE-R's since 1999 and came back in 2011 when things started to settle for me and I had the $

The point is, if you want the convention in NJ or PA, help with the organization of the current convention and get on the committee and put in work.

Internet posts mean nothing, Mark posted his contact info, get to work!

Keeping my eye on this. We are hoping for a succesful "Regional" convention this Nov in California and hope that it makes the guys out here to make plans for 2014 in Ohio. I'll be there.

Get over it...it's not in Jersey this year. These guys go to great lengths to plan these, you should be happy that someone is willing to make the commitment and sacrifice to provide you with a fun, fully planned, organized weekend to have fun with your car. The whining and pussification has got to stop. Get in your car or catch a flight and spend the weekend with us no matter where it's at.
