I did the smartphone app test in the car. Windows down, sun roof open, it measured 99db peak in the cabin under WOT rowing through the gears. I currently have an SSAC header with a 2.5" catback with resonator and magnaflow out the back. That's also with the 1 3/4" tailpipe silencer in the sewer pipe sized tip. The car also has an AEM CAI, which contributes to the noise level. Stock cams for the test. Like BigB said, a smartphone app isn't going to be accurrate. But at least I know now that running straight pipes isn't an option.

I'm debating whether I should run the crush bent Bosal exhaust I had on there for the Ohio event. It was nice to hear myself think on the ride out there. I do lose 3/10th off my 1/4 mile times with crush bent, though. Hmmm.

What phone and what app are we using to measure dB levels with the app? I know its not accurate but would like to see a general range for it

Hank remember it's measured at 50 feet not in car. You should be fine

So I did some research.. My phone can only read 101dB..

Since its in the high 90s in neutral, and just pegs the dial under load, I'm guessing the number is significantly higher.. Sad face..

Yeah I know. I couldn't reach the pedals from 50ft, though.
