Thread: Convention = Passion...

And now i feel even more justified in voting "Meeners" for the Matt Kempe Award.. I voted Shawn B for best B13, and certainly he has creditials for driving 1200 miles and being a very passionate fellow. But with Meeners, I could sense the SR-passion within him..

I sensed his passion when he drove 6 hours (round trip) to help me mount my motor into my car, even though he barely knows me.

I sensed it in the disappointment he had, because I still didn't have it running in time for the convention. He seriously looked devistated, i felt terrible.

I didn't know how to express my gratitude, i guess the easiest way would have been to finish all of the little things on the car, and to have taken it to Cleveland.

Sorry Meeners. I will have it ready for 2013 and drive it there, no matter where the convention is.

I remember in 05 or 06 I was just graduating college and I had literaly NO dough... I had to use the rest to get my 200 mobile from a spun bearing. Brian (Tuned200) who BARELY knew me picked me up a motor from Soco in Chicago when they were still around - to save me shipping cost. Jay (Jing Jing) who I call Superjay to this day, came thru to the house to help me pull the motor out because I had no cherry picker... and Nathan (wrnrwrenwewwright or however you spell it lol) sent me a used B15 SE disc for free just so I could get by... To this day these guys are still in my boot camp. Shit, I actually roomed with him and Tekster/Cliff last weekend.

No question dude. This is the shit I'm talking about. Getting your car running is great, but knowing that now you are now able to get a little further down the line with your car is thanks enough. No disappointment at all! i don't roll that way. It's just a car! it will get done when its done!
