Guilty again. I guess i should admit it before someone screams it...this is the 2nd engine I have done that to in a little over a year. My wife says I'm getting old and lazy. I say it's a mechanical problem!!

You have aftermarket springs and retainers? If not, that probably would have saved that from happening. Might be a wise investment.

Aftermarket springs, retainers and their associated installation cost more than a new VE And that only saves you to about 10,000rpm.

I should come down. Isn't there some big drag event at the MD track this weekend?

It will save you past that. If you can find someone that can do it and has the stuff to do it, installation shouldnt be that much.

Well 2 ve's down and you could have been on the same one. lol

Springs and retainers will take a 12k quick over rev without floating valves. Seen it happen. Buddy had no rev limiter on his n1 cam ve and missed 2nd on a no lift shift and sent the tach into the peg several times. Never bent or kissed a valve on the piston.

Good to know, food for thought. For now I'm going to try to shift more carefully :-)

My theory is that my seat is too far back. I started missing shifts after I installed the roll cage and seat into it's current location. It is pretty far back. I'm going to move it up this weekend then we'll see.

Per Ashton's Link:
-I was wondering about that, I was just on D42, and watching the live feed, and boy, alot of nissans..............and slow ones to boot...........sorry to hear, jb
-adding insult to injury throw about 100 junk imports dropping rocks,,water,,grass etc,etc...
-One guy had road race slicks on all four corners and I swear he dropped a yard of gravel on the track on his first pass Yeah, theyre mad

Apparently all the domestic guys were not very happy that our hundereds of nissans were there. hahaha.

Saying their poor results were because of all the shitboxes tearing up the starting line, dragging gravel down the track and blah blah blah. Fact is, i was the 2nd set of cars to run when they opened and I even lowered power in 1st and 2nd and till absolutely blew the slicks off. The first 60ft was prepped alright to start with but still, tires went up in smoke compared to the night before at Summit, track was grippy as hell and very well prepped even at the end of the night.

They can try to blame our cars all they want, they just like to blame imports for their bad nights.

I find it funny and had to laugh.

Even if we did shit up the track, so what?...they're whining they couldn't get traction? Frickin deal with it...it's called driving! It was the same in both lanes. Gawd forbid someone can't just mash the pedal and drive straight. I read the whole thread. These clowns wouldn't last 2 seconds doing road course duty....especially behind Meeners aka the mudslinger. Bunch of pusses, if you ask me.
