My Dad really wants to be able to walk the track before racing begins. He was able to do this and I hope he can this year also.

Convention fever is spreading.....

If we could get pictures of corner worker flags up in this thread for beginners to study that would also be golden.

Do we know who will be giving the driver's meeting? Do we know the expected behavior on the track as of yet?

We had some really misinformed (or stubborn, or clueless) new folks on the track in 2009 and one sentence during the driver's meeting about treating the straight like a re-organization opportunity instead of a drag strip would have done wonders for shaping track behavior IMO and giving folks the most enjoyment out of their time on track. If I'm off base, then let me know.

Do we know if it will be passing on the straight only, with point-by only? Will the different groups all be going by the same rules? Will there be different groups (beginner, intermediate, advanced)?

Ben everything you asked will be answered at the drivers meeting which we will be having. I plan on arriving around 8 AM to ensure everything is in order for us.

Honestly not sure... I will try to find out. If not we can get an answer there.

A perfect job for Ben's Katie and Ashtons wifey. Put the ladies to work. Skimpy outfits, cold beverages. Ashtons wifey can show off that cleavage of hers. Oh yeah, and Bens sister should work the refreshment tent. Respectfully, she is one lovely little lady.

Its all about SAFELY learning and having fun

Added that little bit there, but appreciate your message.

I just want to get my slow-ass out of folks way safely. Whip on past me folks. Me and my little bolted-on DE will be going as fast as I can drive. Which is just a bit better than your average grandma with cataracts.

Nelson uses the standard flags.

Meeting is given by the track.

Passing rules:

Typically passing is done offline, overtaken car stays online.
There will be sperate run groups, usually by speed/experience.

Natural fabric pants are pretty much always mandatory, but what about shirts? I forget. Long sleeves mandatory? Is that typical?

I'm pretty sure I've driven there in short sleeves before.
