Friday road course (Nelsen Ledges) questions.
Not sure where to ask this, so I thought a new thread would be good. Others might have questions as well.

If we could get pictures of corner worker flags up in this thread for beginners to study that would also be golden.

Do we know who will be giving the driver's meeting? Do we know the expected behavior on the track as of yet?

We had some really misinformed (or stubborn, or clueless) new folks on the track in 2009 and one sentence during the driver's meeting about treating the straight like a re-organization opportunity instead of a drag strip would have done wonders for shaping track behavior IMO and giving folks the most enjoyment out of their time on track. If I'm off base, then let me know.

Do we know if it will be passing on the straight only, with point-by only? Will the different groups all be going by the same rules? Will there be different groups (beginner, intermediate, advanced)?

Will there be a courtesy tent with scantly clad women serving umbrella drinks?

My Dad will be here, ask him, his brother raced and won here in the 510 he built and maintained and it is pretty much the same bumpy track since.

Pfffffff....CSK's and Hypercoils. Foamed chassis and every brace known to mankind. Other folks will be losing their fillings, I'll be laughing at the rough track.

Funny you say that. I'm putting the GR2/stockers back on for this one. 800 mile round trip + rough track + old geezer = soft setup. F*ck it, I'll be the pace car.

That is funny, and I totally understand.

Drove up to the next little town today in my Classic. Where they actually have a main street, Whataburger, gas station, and most importantly a grocery store. 20 miles one way on back-country, rough, twisty two-lane highway. Firm, planted, controlled, and the outright comfort is amazing. I still cannot believe how good it is.

Just be at the track at or before 8. There should be a driver meeting and have fun. Viper Sr can share the details.

I remember a few in 09 who were taking the whole day a little to serious and were making a huge deal about people not letting them past on straights. If that's a problem this year then we'll just need to bring it to.someone's attention. Honestly i dont see it being an issue. Seems most of the participants are track knowledgeable.

Its all about learning and having fun

The other thing to do if one finds themself in a conga line is to pull in the pits for a brief stop n go. Let the traffic go ahead of you for a clear track is a way better option than getting panties in a wad and doing something stupid.
