If you're bringing kids and/or wifes, just be aware that most of the peeps are not going to squelch behavior/language on their account. So don't get upset if someone is an asshat or uses profanity in their presence. It's going to happen. Also, I think it goes without saying that the track days carry an element of danger in and around the track/paddock. Parents need to be aware that they need to watch them at all times. I've been to other track events were I had to take invasive manuevers avoiding little kids running around the paddock like wild animals. When you're strapped into a race car with a hans etc. it's really tough to see kids darting out from behind something.

Not trying to be a anti-family or anything, just trying to nip issues in the bud before they happen.

I have the mind and heart of a 12 year old, does that count? lol

I think he would have a great time, but what hank said is true, we are a very profane bunch.

Not sure if the wife and kids will be coming with, or not. If there were something else going on that weekend, and other spouses with children were present, I'm sure that she'd consider going.

Hank and Will I 100% understand. When Around car guys it is expected. My wife may bring him by for little bit but, I also will be in 100% car mode so I get a free pass that weekend.

I agree with Hank on all points.

It is a profane bunch, I've got a pirate mouth for sure. I try to watch my language around civilized folks.

At the same time, if anybody gets really out of line around kids or wives, I will quickly take a very, very dim view of that behavior. I'm sure that others feel the same way, I am extremely protective around kids and females.

I've never seen anybody really act offensive. Although in Savannah, there was one (1) gentlemen, stupid-drunk, who almost got my full and undivided attention in the parking lot one night. He was about to get his keys confiscated and then....ahem....gently tucked into bed.

These Conventions should always be family-friendly events during the daylight activities.

I know my girls have always felt physically safe and occasionally verbally assaulted at teh conventions they have attended with me. And there is a good chance my son Josh will be attending this year as well.

I would if he can ride along on the road course.. he's 8. Obviously he'd need a helmet.. other than that.. I'm not sure if it's allowed. Any idea?

Last time my son rode in my car he was 2 years old and it was a constant vroom vroom from the baby seat. He is now 7 and more than likely can ride shotty!

So lets just say he is very excited that the car is coming together. I can't wait!
