2012 Convention Ideas Thread
Okay folks. Starting this thread just to hear your thoughts regarding what you'd like to see for next year's convention.

More karting? Road course? Drag strip? Amusement attractions for free day, if not 1/4mi track? Time of year? Gotta poll the masses while this year's convention is fresh in your mind.

Give your thoughts so that we can start researching now. These things can be successful, last minute (obviously), but more time to plan means more success in the end. Keep in mind that this year was done on the cheap, and was a success. We don't need to invest lots of money to have a good time.

Now go go go!

I think the first thing to decide is which time zone we want it to be in. I wish I could have made it this year, especially since it was only 8-10 hours away.

I think Robelin Road would be the best place for it next year.

GA was perfect all around. I did not mind the 14hour+ drive.

Some things to put out there as this starts up:

- it will be somewhere east of the Mississippi River, as of now leaning heavily towards Savannah again
- we plan to include both a road course and a drag strip so that everyone has their preference covered
- we are looking at an April-May time frame

We will try and consider what everyone would like to see at the convention. But PLEASE remember that those who's ass is on the line doing all the work will be making the final decisions. Our goal is to have location and dates set by no later than November, with full details carved out by January giving everyone plenty of time to request time off.

I'm still tossing summit point into the suggestion box. Outdoor karting, roadcourse, 1/4mi track close, Washington DC (nightlife as well as monuments) is an hour away, Dulles intl is 40 minutes for everyone flying in and renting, a couple hours from beaches, etc etc. I know we had it there in 2001, why not take it back there?

Just my thoughts (and I'm willing to help with the hotel/track/etc.)

I like the DC area also. I'm in the middle so anything north or south is good with me. It's been sometime since we had it around the Maryland Virginia area so why not?? Baltimore also has a six flags and I still have not went to DC and went site seeing myself. Come on now. Loud sentras and NXs running around the nations capital!! Lol
