Converting to Manual windows
any one convert their car to manual windows? i am looking to do this and my research so far says both regulators are interchangeble. Im looking to go on a diet with the car, so don't ask why

I've thought about the same thing, but the difference in weight wasn't enough to get excited about. That, and the effort of new door panels, swapping regulators, etc.,made me decide to punt.

US spec I think 98s(1.6) came with crank windows the only issues is the door panels are light gray...iv been researching but became very busy and had no time to complete my search for crank set up.

Actually the cars were autum sunburst as well...

Not much weight savings there, but definately more reliable.

im going to rewire the car from head to toe from scatch, so me ditching the power windows will make my life easier, so its between manual windows or making the windows fixed which to me could be a safety issue. it seems that the regulator bolts right in, im going to order 2 and give it a shot

I swapped my base model to power windows a few years ago. Pretty straightforward. The regulators bolt right in, however you will need the panels for both sides unless you want to cut your own hole for the manual window crank. This will not look the best but if you don't care about that it is your cheapest option.
