The police officer wrote $6k in damage on the ticket but that means nothing. His front wheel where I hit him was bent at an angle, hopefully its just a bent axle etc and not frame damage.

Somehow my father got the insurance taken care of so it looks like they're going to cover me. Something about a 30 day coverage after cancellation as long as it is renewed in that time. His lawyer handled it and had the insurance reinstated and I now have proof of insurance for the time of the accident. Woot.
