Sweet little b14. Welcome to the forum. Most of us here have owned multiples of every chassis that the fwd sr20 engine comes in. At least I have. We have been around the block with these cars. I am personally on my second b14. They are a lot of fun! Your son has a car that can last him a long time if he properly takes car of it, and mods it with quality parts. As soon as he gets out of highschool and decides he wants another car- OFF TO THE TRACK! (not the drag kind either)

If you have any questions and dont feel like searching (or your son) which is what we preach here, just PM me and i can try and help you out.

I have spoken to the previous owner of this car before. Never saw it in person, but I live in Virginia and was curious as to his location and such.

It's at a great starting point for your son. Just make sure everything is executed properly and proper mods are thrown at it and he will love it! Welcome!

Thanks guys, it's good to be aboard.
Changed the oil this past weekend and we definitely have a mess that will need to be addressed. It almost looks like the front of the car was submerged in salt water or something as the radiator support back to the a-arms is covered with rust! From the firewall back everything looks ok...very strange.

that is odd, the normal spots for rust are the lower door jambs and trunk area near the window. it it rotted or surface rust?

It's rusted in the lower door jams, I knew these cars were prone to that, but I didn't expect the rust at the radiator support. It's a rotting rust. Guess I'll be looking for a new radiator support and whatever else I might need in the near future.

welcome to the forum, I'm still 18 so I just got out a highschool and I've had my B14 all through high school. Your son will learn a lot of lessons in this car, It will serve him very well. Just maintain the car properly and you can beat on this car all day long. Sr20's can take a beating; and if you baby the motor, you can get them to run in to 300k mi. range easily.

Welcome to the dash

Your factory alarm is activated by locking your doors it unarms when you manually open your door. Annoying beeping alarm.

Take care of that rust now before it rots through grind it off throw some rust enamel primer surface and duplicolor.get as much as you can off and replace the arms when you get a chance salt water rot rubber out fairly quick.get prothanes for the car too.you know how it is To gun a car for the first time.mounts break.prothanes are pretty cheap.note on that my experience with the install, pass side mount notch the sides out slightly so you can get a socket I. There to reinstall them.tranny mount always try to bolt it to the chassis first.the through bolt strips easily when u install the mount while on the tranny already.
