My Exalta headlight Retrofit! Pics galore!!!
I been working on this a few weeks, I have taken apart headlights before but this is my first retrofit, It would have taken me about 2 days a few hours each day if I would have went straight through with it. I started out with FX35 headlights, evidently there was a recall on the 03's and they just replaced the whole headlight, I came across 2 sets of these in one week.

after baking them and taking them apart I kept the good stuff!!

I had to use the dremel to cut the bezels out of the headlight housing. Then I baked and took apart the Exaltas.

Took off the reflective housing, the screws were a pain

everything off!!!

Test fitting, the two bottom holes line up but the top is off a little so I will have to make a new hole.

New hole made just to the left of the old hole

Screwed the D2S housing on and testing the angle, I had to do all my adjustments before sealing everything back up.

testfit unsealed on the car

I had to modify the bezel a lil bit to get it on but it's nice and snug

Quick testfit for adjustment before resealing.

Sealed back up and ready to go on

Much better!!!

And of course the money cutoff shots!!!

Don't flame my Fast and Furious poster, I got it back in 02 when I was still a ricer...

Thanks for looking!!!

Is that on high beam? if not, that's the worst cutoff i've ever seen, its so messed up? Cutoff should be a sharp, or at the very least, a defined line.

I was going to make a comment about the poster to untill i read the bottom lol.

I dont mind exaltas on black cars, because you dont notice the gap that much.....They do look good on your car, but lighter colors i hate seeing that damn gap unless someone goes the correct route and modifys the hood or grill to fill the gap like that one guy on here did years ago. That cutoff should be sharper though, but thats not to important, My non projector hid bulbs in my housing do just as good so congrats. I like the look of the projector in the housings.

Nice work. Looks the bottom cutoff is sharper than the top. Are they in upside down?

Regardless are you going to "fill the gap"?

It's a close up shot, looks much better from 25ft, I'll get some more pics at night.

If I knew how to do fiberglass I would have been made a grill to cover the gap, nobody wants to do it for me and there's not enough forum members to do a group thing... Thanks for the comments!!!
