Matt, even new tailamps is good to re-seal them with silicone!

I know my lock cylinder is bad. That isn't my issue though. Before the first adjustment I could open the trunk with the lever next to the driver seat. After raising the bottom latch up a tad, it will shut fine now but not open with the lever...

at least your issue is a mechanic issue that should be fairly easy to fix .. i have no clue where this leak is coming from

^^lol, how did this turn into a leak thread??

It sounds like maybe you need a new lock cylinder? If adjusting it dont work, what other options are there?

I know 100% I need a new lock cylinder. The trunk has never been able to open with a key.

But, I had always been able to open it with the lever inside the car. Now, after adjusting the bottom hook (the part thats bolted to the chassis, not the trunk lid portion) so that things would line up and be able to close properly, the trunk closed and stayed closed perfectly, but the lever wont open the trunk. To open the trunk I have to crawl through the back seat and use the inner safety release to pop the trunk open.
