Isn't 90% of everything we do to our nissans in reality depreciating the value as far as average consumer market goes? But in reality, it seems that when most of our cars are sold, they are being sold to fellow forum members or other enthusiasts, where if anything fresh paint regardless of color is usually looked at as a plus to the sale... IMO, I'd much rather buy a car that has fresh blue paint then I would with original faded ass black paint..

Your missing the point. What I mean is if he chooses to paint the car the oringinal color, it will hold its value better. I didn't say it will loss value if its faded black and he paints it blue. If he decided to put it back to stock and trade it in, then he probably get more for it regardless who purchases it. Your the enthusiasts, not everybody is and not everyone wants a car painted a different color. (not sayin he is but its possiable). Just tryin to give the OP some advice for down the road.

True, but honestly... ours cars are worth so little, does it matter at this point? The paint job will probably cost more than the car (at least stock) is worth.
