Thread: Just got my 200sx se-r, Need Help.

I just picked up a 98 200sx se-r. I had the vehicle checked for safety and all was good. Motor is strong and everything works great. Love the car and really happy that I picked it up. The only problem that I am having is that when the car is in drive and I am at a red light the engine idles very rough. When I take off it starts a little rough up to about 2000 rpm. After that the motor comes alive and it feels brand new. Anybody have any thoughts? Please help.

Check your TPS voltage, also the 98 has a lot more emmissions crap on it than the earlyer cars, so one of those could be the culprit.

Any thoughts on where to take it? It is winter here and I have to be able to drive the car right away. Otherwise I would just get the book and do it myself.

Maybe post in your regional section to see if someone can help ya out who has a garage? Theres a lot of SR20 group help avaliable.
