True. I just spoke to him about the process. He claimed it was not as difficult as the forums portray it to be. As long as you find a good alignment guy, aka "the Professional".

Process of bending is easy. TO do it properly you NEED a JIG to support the beam. The TWO people in the country that do this the right way use a jig...

The three support pieces? He claimed they are easy to fabricate. The other is a giant piece or steel or iron that will not bend vs that rear beam.

"Thoe three C clamp pieces of steel with two pieces welded to support the interior of the beam, nothing more" -Mike Kojima

There are more than two people in the country that know how to do this. We only know of two people in the country that know how to do this. And wes, dont you work with Mike?? Or something regarding Mike?

You can spend several hundred dollars making the fixtures, etc. and take them to the alignment shop. Plan about a half day on their rack. Or, just show up and plan for a full day on their rack. The trick is in knowing how much to overbend the beam so it springs back to just the right spot. I worked with Steve to do 6 or 7 in a day and he hit most of them right on the first try. As a beginner, you will need to bend a little, measure, bend a little more, measure, etc. If you go too far, it is nearly impossible to go back. as I recall, the rear wheels need to be towed out 3-4 inches in order to spring back to zero. Also, it depends on the starting point. Most cars were towed in 1/4", but some were less. And, then there is the runout of the wheels to consider. I was surprised at how much run out was present in some aftermarket wheels. if you can do all of this for less than $500, I would be surprised.

I work with Mike Kojima on MotoIQ stuff... What does that have to do with anything? Are you asking that like I should know what it takes to make one of the jigs? They are fairly simple to make, I agree, the process is not difficult either. The issue isn't whether or not I can figure this out, it is whether or not someone else is willing to spend the time and money doing that for themselves to bend their own beam. I think I might not be making my point clear....

If someone is not willing to simply spend some money and DRIVE to get their beam bent, they are NOT going to spend the same amount of money PLUS a bunch of time and effort making the jigs, sourcing the I beam, chains, bottle jack, and toe plates to do it themselves....

LMAO, no. I did not look at your thread history and remembered reading articles on MotoIQ and ones you have posted here and I know MotoIQ from Kojima, that logic works great there and has nothing to do with the jigs. It was for other reasons.

It is, oddly worded and has a strange attitude to it, but clear.

I tried before and I did not make the "cut".

It is precisely what I want to do. Bring it back to the east coast. I do not know what will happen until I start paddling.

Cool! My thought process was mainly directed toward the OP...... Best of luck in getting this set up. I know there will be a lot of happy people if you do!
