that or 80w90 is fine. It takes six quarts. For some reason I used to put three but my haines book says six for a manual SR20DE engine. So I put six and it takes all six. Just dont go with anything cheap. One of my tricks is to put 2 1/2 quarts of you gear oil, add one quart of lucas oil stabalizer and then the rest of your gear oil. Gears love the lucas. It coats everything nicely and makes the gearbox feel sooo smooth.

FSM says GL4 75w90 and 3.5 - 3.7 liters of capacity. That's also about 3.7 quarts. That's for a 1991-1994 SE-R. I don't think the B14s are any different?
When you fill the transmission the best way to make sure you have the right amount of fluid in there is to use the correct fill hole, make sure the car is on a level surface, and fill until fluid comes out of the fill hole. It is called a fill/check hole for this reason. You fill from it and it is used to check the fluid level.

I always buy 4 quarts (slightly less than 4 liters) and I have a little bit left over. Again, this is a B13 SE-R transmission, but I don't think the capacity of the B14 transmissions are any different.

same here on a 99 p11 tranny. Also agree on the filling method of flat ground and wait until it drips out of fill hole.

I switched to Redline MT90 and will never go back to anything else. Much smother then before with the Mobile1. I fill through the speedo hole and it tells you about 1" or so below that. I would have to look it up to be sure. I took about 4 qts all said and done.

I just buy a gallon of 80w-90 and use one of those tranny funnels to get it all in by leaving the front end on jacks. I figure our transmissions generally leak a bit anyways so the extra fluid wont hurt anything.

Zac I have used regular gear oil, Royal Purple, MT 90 and heavyweight shock proof. I like the royal purple but the best IMO is MT90 mixed with heavyweight shockproof.
