I absolutely hated shifting with the Fidanza "short" shifter I had. Hit my damn cup holder 1/3/5 EVERY time. Couldn't keep a coke can in it for NOTHING. Ended up buying some insulated mugs that I tucked in between the center console and pass. seat.

Even with my B&M, I hit the cup holder sometimes. I'm just going to rip it out one of these days and forget I ever had one.

You guys must have some crazy deformed hands or shift like animals. I dont hit my cup holder. I usually have a bottle of water in the cup holder and my shifter doesnt hit it either.

You probably have extra small set of hands

With a stock shifter or a pace setter, if you put the ball up high enough the shift knob won't move very much at all. It can't hit the cup holder in 1st, 3rd and 5th if it only moves a millimeter when changing gears.

i have to agree. i have no use for the damn cup holders. no point in blocking the deck with any drink hahaha. but since im replacing the clutch i was thinking about swapping in a new tranny as in mine is quite a p.o.s. and the gear box is quite questionable. Any ideas. oh ya, getting fresh paint and parts thanks to some idiot that hit my car and ran the other day....

Whats wrong with your tranny? and whats wrong with the clutch?? If you can hold off on replacing it for a little while then do that. Save up some more money so you can buy a Fidanza flywheel. You will love yourself for doing that mod.
