fisheyes occur when oils on the surface to be painted are not cleaned off...its the same principle of oil and water....pinholes are the holes left by air pockets in the body filler and or primer...

That too

I was actually told by the last painter that touched my other car, though, that it's caused from improperly cleaning/prepping, and from not taking your time. So I guess it's a combination of many different things.

youre absolutely right...paint work is all about prep and taking your time...it is my profession and i hate having a hack azz prep dude...i cannot stress prep enough

yeah wisconsin, I went to get my skateboard out of my trunk earlier and my hands were white for about 5 minutes, lesson learned: don't touch metal in negative temperatures!
