P0171 Wtf?
My ses light came on last night while I was driving on the highway. Going about 65mph, light came on and it is staying on. I just bought a OBDII scaner to check what is going on, and I get one code P0171. So damn now what? Is it a o2 sensor? I'm lucky I chose to take my car to it's smog test last week.
It passed with no problems, I would have been ****ed for sure if this had happend during the test. Car runs great though, knock on wood.

Well I have been searching this site and the other site for answers. Everyone says it's the maf or the o2 sensor. Is the maf sensor the same on all sr20 b14's? I'm not having any idle problems. I think i'm getting good mileage, i'm at 260 miles at a quarter tank. This is mixed city and highway, I don't drive fast at all and I always shift around 3k rpms. Don't know if this info tells you anything. Anyway I have until next smog test July 2010 to figure this out, or til what ever part related to this code breaks on me.

call autozone and give them the number and they will tell you what it is

yeah i work at autozone and that is an o2 sensor code which it most likely is when it pops up. but a few things can throw that also i.e. vaccum leak(which you would notice). or sometimes if you get a p0171 and a p0172 it can be a bad maf or just a dirty one. go into autozone and they can print you a slip of all the probable causes.

You know I did clean and re oil my pop charger air filter, then this P0171happens. I wonder if I used too much oil on the filter.

You either oiled too much or you didn't tighten all the hoses. Take it off clean the MAF and make sure all is tight when you put it back on. Your problem should go away.

I have some code, on B15. I believe it to be O2 Sensor, question is which one as there are 4 on the manifold. Cleaned my MAF, ITB, and checked all hoses.

B15 then you should replace the MAF. They use the same MAF as the 00-02 g20's. This is a very common problem over on g20.net. Almost everytime a new maf fixed it.

BTW the Roller Rocker mafs are the same as the 00-02 I30 and Maxima Mafs. These could be had at a dealership for under $100. Again search G20.net and you will see what I'm talking about.

well since the vehicle is a 4 cyl it will never have a p0172, since there is not a bank2 on this vehicle. with this code it is usually maf related, since you just oiled your filter, that could be the cause right there. you will not ever get a p0172 on this vehicle
