Power Sterring belt replacement HELP
I cannot locate the adjustment bolt so I can get the belt off. The how too that I have indicates that it is to be loosned from the under side of the car. I have the other belt off and this is all I lack. I have loosened the 2 p/s 12mm bolts at the top that are just under the oil filter. But no luck at all on getting it loose. I can't see where the/a bolt would be from under the car to be loosened up. I have been at this all day long. Other than what I mentioned what am I not doing. My how too is vauge and has not been helpful. Thanks for any help you all can give.

Here's the pic from the FSM on changing/adjusting the belts:

Thanks for the reply but, the two pics on the top of the adjustment bolts. Thats the same adjustment bolts? Just shown at two different angles? I have those loose and nothing will move for the belt to come off. Or do I need to tighten it towards the motor so it will loosen. By now I have lost my abilty to process thought and things that should be easy(like this) aren't going easy.

Yea, you have to tighten the adjustment bolt towards the motor for it to losen. No worries, I know how frustrating things can get after hours of staring at it.

And for the record, the left pic is the PS pump, and the right is the alt, but the adjustment bolts and brackets are the same style.

Just loosen the bolt on the side of the bracket first (the one that holds it tight to the bracket), then tighten the rear bolt on the bracket towards the motor so it loosens tention on the belt.

Well I tighten all the way in and still no loose belt. You think I need to tap it some more? I set the bolt back where it was this morning when I started this hour and a half long project.

Are you getting an movement/free play out of the PS pump at all? It could be seized up on its pivot if the pump hasn't been moved in a long time. Try loosening the bolt all the way so you can try to push/pull the pump some.

Those two bolts are the only things that keep the pump tight, so where ever the problem is, it should be right there or at the pivot point on the pump (though i highly doubt you need to loosen that).

I'm going to loosen it all back up and pull and pound like hell on it. As far as I know these are the original belts and the pump has not been moved in a long time.
