Thread: stock alarm and Keyless entry

has anyone had an se edition and put the se-r alarm and key less entry in? wondering is it hard. or should i just be buy a after market better alarm system?

personally i have seen some good prices at circuit city and best buy for alarms installed, some around 300 with remote start,keyless entry,ect.

some as cheap as 250 but depends on the extras that it comes with.

i didnt have any remotes for my 98 se so i bought a cheap keyless entry system and took the alarm fuse out. its been working great so far.

i think mine came with a keyless entry remote from the factory, i had them check my VIN and they said they can order me one for about $80.00

when i get money.

mine is an SE-R, it had a factory alarm
i found out one day when i was at K-mart and opened the door from outside the driver's side door cause i forgot to roll my window up as i was leaving...

i noticed before i left the car...

anyhoo...

the alarm i didn't know i had went off and it took me 15min to figure out you had to put the key in the drivers side door and unlock it.
at least i know it works.

but yes, if you are not the original owner, and don't know whether or not your car has a factory alarm... just call a Nissan Dealership and they can tell you upon providing them with a VIN #

My car has the factory alarm. I did not get a remote when I bought my car.
But I'm not going to spend $80 for a remote, ebay here I come.

dont get ur remote off ebay. I got one off of ebay and it wouldnt work even though they said it would for a 200sx. I went to the dealer and got mine, they programed it and i was out of there in less than 5 mins. It was nice.

I just bought one from ebay. I'll let you guys know if it works or not.
